Season: The normal hunting season starts on the third Saturday of October and runs thru the end of December. On our preserve acres we can offer hunting from September 1 through March 31.
Our newest facility (2001) has proven its worth over the past couple of seasons. We call it the kennel building, but it's much more that that. All hunts originate and end in this facility. We sign in the hunters, load their gear and jump on the bus all inside a climate controlled building. Our dogs can be loaded in the trailer, water, coolers, shells and all the necessities are stored inside for easy access. We have found it has better organized our hunts.
The most important benefit to our hunters is the use of the building. After a great day of hunting, we can pull into the facility and a fully stocked lounge awaits the hunters while guides tend to the birds and dogs. We have received wonderful reviews from our hunters on this addition to our facilities.
Near the kennel building is our "cook shack" where all of our meals are served. It is a very comfortable place to take a break and enjoy some of mom's home-cooking. Everyone has found the lodge to be very relaxing place to catch their breath at the end of the day. Satellite t.v., jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and a back deck frequented every morning by pheasants are a few of the things you will enjoy.
We have recently added a regulation skeet range to our facility list. It has been a wonderful place to "tune-up" prior to the hunt. We also see many hunters shooting some competitive games after hunting.
