Most of our dove hunting either take place in Central Texas, near San Angelo, West Texas near Anson or in the Heart of Texas area, Brownwood to Coleman, Texas. Some of our best dove hunts take place over fields of sunflowers, dove weed, and grain fields, which can be fast and furious. If you are more interested in hunting over water holes we have those too. We normally set up our Texas dove hunting as two-day/two-night packages with group sizes normally varying from 9-40 hunters. There is no minimum but you will have the lodge to your self if you book 9 or more. These packages include lodging, meals, guide, and bird preparation. We also offer unassisted day dove hunts. Dove Hunts include bird cleaning and packaging of birds and we send you home with one of the First Shot Outfitters Logo cooler bags. Our Rio Grande Turkey hunts are conducted on large private ranches with very limited hunting pressure. There is an extraordinary amount of mature Rio Grande “long beards” on these ranches. With our staff of expert turkey guides you will not have any problem getting into birds. We provide 2 on 1 guiding on Multiple ranches covering tens of thousands of acres. If your are interested in calling for yourself, that is not a problem either. Our normal hunting methods are to scout and pattern the long beards and to set up within calling distance of strut zones, feeding areas or known roost areas and to call the Rio’s to us. This is not a “sit over a feeder turkey hunt”. Hunts can consist of a fair amount of walking and calling, but we can fit your needs if you prefer a less active hunt. Most of our whitetail hunts take place in Coleman County, in Coleman, TX. We have over 600,000 acres of nothing but free roaming, low fence ranches throughout Texas. Our fully outfitted Trophy Whitetail Hunts are 5 nights 4 days of hunting by spot and stalk. The accommodations are unsurpassed, our Coleman Lodge was built in 2005, and is a custom built log cabin, constructed of enormous hand carved fir timbers and has an oversized rock fireplace extending to the old barn tin used on the ceiling. Nothing beats the pure adrenaline rush of going one on one with a big wild boar. First Shot Outfitter’s control over 600,000 acres throughout Texas. The terrain consist of dense mesquite-filled, rugged pastures, food plots, river bottoms and 72 freshwater lakes where the abundant wild game has easy access to water, cover and food. We set up strategically placed blinds in known travel, feeding and watering areas. Our guides take you into a choice area, stay with you, or drop you off, the choice is yours. Then the guides will bring you back to the lodge for lunch and a rest period. Then it’s back out for the evening hunt. Dogs are used if the hunters request them.
